Alzheimer's Disease is a Global Epidemic and currently there are more than 5.8 million Americans that are living with Alzheimer's Disease and over 47 Million people worldwide. Only one in four people with the disease are actually diagnosed. Which means that most of us knows someone who has been diagnosed and/or seen challenges many loved one's may experience in caring for someone diagnosed or showing signs of memory loss.
Over the years Hollywood has made a lot more films about this difficult topic. I personally feel movies can be insightful and sometimes comforting when you experience a storyline that you can relate to. When I am personally going through a difficult time or having a stressful day...music and movies is my GO TO! If I am going through a breakup the sadder the music the better I end up feeling. Well....after some tears and maybe disrupting the neighbors with my tragic voice...I feel better knowing that I am not the only one who feels like this! My neighbors may have a different opinion but what can you do! You can't please them all. Ha! I hope you can get the same from watching these movies as we do singing to Adel when we are brokenhearted. Here are 5 movies that we feel you would enjoy and hopefully enlighten you about Dementia and Alzheimer's Disease.
